Meet Our Producer

Mardi Gras was set up by myself in 1996 whilst producing music concerts for the likes of Rolls Royce, Heatwave and David Grant. During this time I realised the importance of giving opportunities to young performers, especially within dance. Since creating these wonderful chances to perform on the world's best stages we have seen the number of young people attending dance classes double within the U.K!

Since our first shows in 1997 at London venues such as the Cambridge and Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, we have staged many hundreds of productions throughout the United Kingdom. We have made young dancers dreams of performing in the most renowned West End theatres become an amazing reality.

Currently 'The Stars' in Our Eyes shows are hosted at Her Majesty's Theatre and Sadler's Wells. Our impressive 360 degree performance is held at the Royal Albert Hall and is aptly named 'The Stars' in the Round. These shows offer dance troupes the chance to showcase their amazing talent in professional working theatres to a diverse audience.

Every other year we stage the Mardi Gras Challenge at Sadler's Wells. Junior and senior troupes compete for truly amazing prizes including huge cash awards and performance trips abroad. Past judges have included Bonnie Langford and the creator of 'Fosse', Chet Walker. We see the Challenge as an important fixture in our calendar as it promotes a healthy attitude towards competitive dance which is so important if our dancers wish to make it in the field of performing arts.

To mark the turn of the millennium, we invited dance schools to come together at the Birmingham NEC to break a number of British and world records in the categories of song and dance. The event was hosted by Guinness World Record Breaker's Cheryl Baker and over five thousand students attended to make the day a huge success. We are very proud to hold these astounding records.

Mardi Gras combine their winning formula with the Magic of Disney to create a stunning event that sees schools returning to stay and play with us every summer. You will perform to an international audience on a stage in the heart of the resort. No expense or trouble will be spared to ensure your trip will create memories to last a lifetime.

We pledge to continue offering schools and their young dancers the best performance opportunities possible on the most exciting stages in the world. We look forward to your next appearance in a Mardi Gras production.
