REGISTRATION DAY: MONDAY 20th FEBRUARY


The Challenge invites dance schools from across the UK to showcase their young talent in an effort to win amazing cash prizes and to be added to our Challenge Winners Hall of Fame!

The Challenge will be held at Sadler’s Wells, London on Saturday 10th November 2012. There are two competitions - Junior and Senior, with both sections held on the same day.  The Juniors will perform in the afternoon and the Seniors in the evening.  All winners will be announced at the end of each show.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, along with an extra ‘Producers Prize’ will be awarded for both sections. 




Here's What to do:

On Monday 20th February 2012, call 01992 522 222 from 9.30am.  



We will ask you for payment (£12.00 per student) which will need to be paid for at the time of booking via credit or debit card. This is the only way to secure your place in the competition.  A confirmation letter will be sent to you  along with an Information Pack covering all aspects of the event.

You will need to have the following information available for us to process your registration as quickly as possible:

Personal: School name, Principal name, Address, Telephone number, Email Address, Number of entrants.

Payment Information: Card number, Card holder, Valid from, Expiry date, Issue number, Security code.

Spaces for the Mardi Gras Challenge are strictly limited and due to overwhelming demand are filled very quickly.   All entries will be dealt with on a first-come first-served basis.

COMPETITION RULES

Entry Requirements
1/ Registration day for the Challenge 2012 is:
Monday 20th February 2012.
2/ Junior troupe members must be aged between 6 and 14 years and the Senior troupe members between 12 and 21 years at the time of performance.  Your troupe should be no fewer than 20 in number and no more than 24.  Please note, you may enter your school in either or both sections but a student may enter into one age group only.
3/ Entry is by school only and will be on a strictly first-come first-served basis.
4/  There will be a £12.00 charge for each student which must be made by credit or debit card when you register your troupe.
5/ Proof of a student’s age may be requested at any time.
6/ All performers must arrive at the theatre by coach at their allotted time. Due to limited dressing room space, junior and senior troupes will not be permitted to stay in the building at the same time.
Your Routine
7/ The judging panel will be independent of the production company.  Their decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8/ Only hand held props will be allowed on stage.
Music
9/ Performances must be no more than 4 mins in length and schools must provide digital quality music in CD format.
10/ We advise that you comply with British Copyright Law when considering editing music that you do not own the rights to.
11/ You are welcome to sing but we do not recommend it and there will be no microphones available.  Use of your own personal mics is also not permitted.
And….
12/ It is the responsibility of all schools to ensure that their entrants and their parents or guardians are made aware of these rules.
13/ Failure to comply in any of the above rules can lead to disqualification.

RECOMMENDATION: Our judges recommend that you incorporate at least two disciplines of dance within your routine.
